Originally conceived in late 2000 and early 2001, this was supposed to be the first album for Quietus until a colleague dropped out of the project. It was shelved as newer Quietus songs were going in a different direction. This album fits more of what I, Misanthrope is about.

Wilt is about suicide. More specifically, it deals with a lifetime of being suicidal - from childhood until early adulthood - and trying to somehow cope with it.
